Kraken to cancel 176 cryptocurrency trading pair orders, shifting to a synthetic trading model.
Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced it will cancel orders for 176 cryptocurrency trading pairs and replace them with synthetic markets. The affected markets will enter cancel-only mode at 14:00 UTC on November 6, with existing orders being canceled between November 6 and 9. The replacement markets are expected to go live before the end of November 9. Existing orders will not be transferred to the synthetic alternatives, and limit orders in the synthetic markets will incur taker fees, no longer qualifying for maker fees. Affected trading pairs include BTC/DAI, ETH/JPY, AAVE/BTC, ADA/AUD, and SHIB/USDT, among others. Kraken stated that the underlying cryptocurrencies, client balances, and margin trading pairs are not affected, but the new markets will remove partial fills and some advanced trading instructions.
