User data from crypto exchanges Coinbase and Bithumb has been leaked. Coinbase stated that its third-party analytics vendor, Amplitude, experienced a security incident, resulting in the exposure of a small portion of user contact data, but Coinbase's own systems were not breached, and customer funds were unaffected. Bithumb's user data leak stemmed from an "external party" breaching its internal mobile groupware system.

Additionally, South Korean traditional financial institutions Daishin Securities and Mirae Asset Global Investments also suffered data breaches, with Daishin Securities having credit card and personal information of nearly 38,500 customers exposed. Monero exchange company Wagyu also reported a data breach, with the ransomware group WhiteArmor having leaked its customer data and demanding a $5 million ransom. This group also extorted Chinese electronics company Hisense and gambling company Gamdom.

In light of multiple data breach incidents, the South Korean Presidential Office has convened an emergency meeting to discuss the situation.
