Industry insiders say the modernization of the U.S. power grid is seeing new opportunities as AI data centers place immense pressure on existing grids. Weavegrid provides load management software to help utilities optimize energy deployment, while Veir, which develops superconducting transmission lines capable of transmitting power five times further and requiring 20 times less space than traditional cables, completed a $110 million Series C funding round earlier this month. Kristen Eberhard, Vice President of Policy at Rewiring America, noted that the surge in data center energy demand has made industries more willing to explore new grid solutions.
