Ipsos survey shows: The proportion of Americans who have owned or used cryptocurrencies rose to 22%, but usage in the past year remained flat at 13%.
A national survey conducted by Ipsos for the DeFi Education Fund found that the percentage of U.S. adults who have ever owned or used cryptocurrency increased from 18% in 2025 to 22%, but usage in the past 12 months remained at 13%. The growth primarily came from individuals who have stopped using cryptocurrency. The survey also revealed that only 19% of Americans consider the traditional financial system secure, but trust in cryptocurrency exchanges and decentralized platforms is even lower, at 4% and 5% respectively.
