Hackers Publish Work Details of Over 41,000 US Homeland Security Employees, Citing Retaliation for ICE Actions
A hacktivist group calling itself “Department of Peace” has published online the names, job titles, office locations, and phone numbers for more than 41,000 US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees and contractors. The group claims the data was obtained from an Okta single sign-on service used by DHS, stating the action is in retaliation for Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin's pledge to step up Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Okta disputes the claim, stating its systems were not compromised. DHS is aware of the potential breach and is actively working to address the situation, having already filed a takedown notice for the data.
