Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg used President Donald Trump's preferred term "super intelligence" on recent third-quarter earnings calls. Trump declared at a White House AI luncheon on Sept. 29 that executive-branch departments and agencies should replace "artificial intelligence" with the term, and later said on Truth Social that "AI" would be banned from relevant documents.

Earlier in October, Musk renamed SpaceX's AI division SpaceXSI and referred to "advanced AI or SI" on Tesla's call. Zuckerberg highlighted Meta's "goal of delivering personal superintelligence to everyone" on its Oct. 21 call; Meta had already created Meta Superintelligence Labs last year.

Other technology executives, including Amazon's Andy Jassy, Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Alphabet's Sundar Pichai, continued to use "AI" in recent earnings calls. Microsoft's annual report filed last week also mentioned "super intelligence," showing that the broader industry has not uniformly adopted the terminology.
