AI infrastructure company Runware is expanding its Romanian factory, planning to increase its prefabricated AI data center capacity to 30MW per day by 2028. The company aims to mass-produce modular Sonic Inference Pods on an assembly line, similar to automobiles, stating that the construction time for a single pod will be reduced from three weeks to one day; installation and setup are targeted for completion within 48 hours.
Runware has raised over $60 million to date and claims to have received $1 billion in purchase intentions, corresponding to over 20MW, since opening Sonic Pods to external customers a month ago. Its second factory is expected to be completed within months and go online early next year, with subsequent plans for expansion into the United States and other global regions.
