Yousuf Daas, an economist at the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute, told Al Jazeera that the Israeli blockade of Hebron has led local business owners to report losses of up to $20 million in inventory, facilities, shops, and workshops. He noted that these small, family-owned businesses, which are typically uninsured and burdened with bank loans, still have to carry their debts while losing their operations. Additionally, public infrastructure losses amount to millions of dollars, and reconstruction will take years.
