SFC survey: 30% of Hong Kong's large financial firms now use agentic AI, regulator warns of risks
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released its first-ever AI readiness survey, revealing that most large financial firms in Hong Kong are already using artificial intelligence across their operations. The survey found that 30% of these firms have adopted agentic AI, which can autonomously determine and execute tasks, in their business operations, with another 25% piloting it. SFC chief executive officer Julia Leung cautioned about the risks of agentic AI, noting that regulatory development has outpaced the technology's advancement.
