Apollo Launches $11.2 Billion European Private Credit Platform Backed by Abu Dhabi
Apollo Global Management has launched its European Credit Company (ECC) platform, boasting over €10 billion (approximately $11.2 billion) in lending capacity and backed by several major global investors, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC). The platform will invest in large and mid-market credit, covering corporate and asset-backed loans, as well as real asset owner loans in infrastructure and real estate. Other strategic partners include European insurance group Athora, Japan's Norinchukin Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and US credit investor Aranda Principal Strategies. This move comes a week after Apollo agreed to acquire a nearly 10% stake in Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management subsidiary of Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Co.
