Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it has intercepted and destroyed a U.S. MQ-9 drone in the eastern Strait of Hormuz. According to Iran's Fars News Agency, the IRGC stated the downing was carried out by its new advanced aerospace defense system and claimed it was the 55th U.S. MQ-9 drone it has destroyed. The U.S. military has not immediately confirmed this report.
