CNBC reports that U.S. chip giant NVIDIA is using robotic hands from Chinese startups Sharpa and Wuji in its humanoid robot training packages. Both companies are linked to founders in Shanghai. Wuji's arm was showcased by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in Berlin on October 21 as part of its new humanoid hardware system, Agile One SN. Sharpa's robotic hand is used in NVIDIA's first reference humanoid design, released on May 31. Additionally, Meta is collaborating with Chinese startup Fourier to develop humanoid robot prototypes, while Xiaomi is testing its robot hands in car factories. The report highlights that hardware is a major bottleneck in humanoid robot development, with robotic hands being a critical challenge, and Chinese companies are attempting to distinguish themselves in this field.
