Professor Ho Lok-sang, an adjunct professor at the Education University of Hong Kong, stated that Hong Kong's Q3 GDP is estimated to have grown by 5.2% year-on-year, boosting business sentiment. However, he noted that the economic recovery remains uneven and will take time to broaden. He pointed out that Grade A office absorption has performed well, but other commercial properties, construction demand, retail consumption, and the catering industry are still lagging. Ho Lok-sang expects Hong Kong's full-year economic growth in 2026 to exceed 4%, potentially reaching 4.5%. Kenny Shui, Vice President of Our Hong Kong Foundation, also believes that strong goods exports and tourism-driven service exports are contributing, but private consumption growth has slowed. He forecasts full-year economic growth of approximately 5%, higher than the government's projection, and potentially subject to an upward revision.
