German science and technology giant Merck is investing $338 million (approx. €300 million) to build a new life science production center in Daejeon, South Korea. This facility marks Merck's largest life science investment in the Asia-Pacific region to date, aimed at advancing its "in-region, for-region" strategy to reduce reliance on US and European manufacturing hubs and tap into the Asian biopharmaceutical market.
