UK FCA to Form Quantum Lab to Explore Quantum Computing in Financial Crime Combat
The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is set to form a quantum experimentation taskforce to explore the application of quantum computing in combating financial crime. This taskforce is the world's first regulator-led quantum computing experimental organization of its kind, scheduled to officially launch in the first quarter of 2027, with an initial focus on exploring how quantum machine learning can help detect money laundering and fraudulent activities. Relevant financial services firms, quantum technology providers, and national laboratories can register to participate by December 31, 2026.
