Casa Founder Lopp: Bitcoin's Value Is Not Measured in Fiat, Fiat Depreciation Is an Inevitable Trend
Jameson Lopp, a board member at crypto wallet service Casa, emphasized that the true value of Bitcoin should not be measured solely by its fiat price, as fiat currencies themselves carry inherent risks of devaluation. He pointed out that most fiat currencies throughout history have had short lifespans, and the purchasing power of the US dollar has significantly declined. Lopp believes that Bitcoin's fixed supply and decentralized nature make it an effective hedge against fiat inflation and devaluation. Despite its short-term price volatility, its status as a store of value is increasingly prominent in the long run.
