What is OKT? The Current State of OKT Chain and its Integration with OKB
OKT was formerly the native utility token of OKT Chain (formerly OKExChain), used for paying transaction fees, staking, and participating in governance. However, due to strategic adjustments within the OKX ecosystem, OKT Chain is being phased out. Trading of OKT tokens on the OKX exchange ceased on August 13, 2025, and OKT was automatically converted to OKB starting August 15, 2025. On-chain OKT holders can deposit their tokens to OKX for conversion until January 1, 2026. After this date, OKB will become the native gas token for OKX's new Layer 2 network, X Layer.
