Svmuu News: Huang Renxun posted his first tweet on X (formerly Twitter), attaching a joint open letter titled “Open Weights and U.S. Leadership in AI.” However, as of now, the three major closed-source cutting-edge AI labs in the U.S.—OpenAI,Anthropic, and Google have not signed the joint open letter. The more than 20 companies that have co-signed include NVIDIA, Meta, Microsoft, Palantir, CrowdStrike, IBM, ServiceNow, Hugging Face, Mistral AI, a16z, Y Combinator, and Perplexity, among others.
According to reports, the open letter argues that “AI distillation” technology should not be restricted and states that the standard for measuring U.S. leadership in AI is not the power of a single cutting-edge model, but rather the ability to build a robust and open ecosystem that permeates all industries. Open weighted models are the cornerstone of this ecosystem.

Svmuu News: Crypto influencer @Joes-Crypto posted on X, stating, “As one of the first influencers to discover and publicly warn about anomalies in BitMart’s hot wallet, I’ve received private messages from users over the past couple of days saying their accounts have been frozen. When they try to log in, they see the following message: ‘ Due to security policies, your account has been frozen. Please contact customer service. [-1005]’ BitMart has now released an announcement regarding the termination of operations, but the most critical issues remain unaddressed:
• Some users’ accounts have been frozen, and they are unable to log in normally.
• How are users who cannot log in supposed to verify their assets and submit withdrawal requests?
• The announcement does not specify a clear timeline for when withdrawals will be enabled or a deadline for their completion.
• When exactly will withdrawals that have already been submitted but not yet credited be processed?
• Does customer service have sufficient staff and formal procedures in place to handle the return of all users’ assets?
After an exchange announces the termination of operations, the most important thing is not simply a statement that “user assets are safe,” but rather the publication of a verifiable, trackable timeline for asset returns.
With some users currently unable to log in, and the official statement failing to explain the reasons for the account freezes, how to unfreeze them, or the completion date for withdrawals, this clearly fails to dispel market concerns.”

Svmuu News: The NFT platform Forma has announced that it will cease operations of the Forma blockchain, stating that continuing to maintain the network is no longer sustainable.Forma stated that it will migrate the Modularium platform and Forma NFTs to the Ethereum mainnet to ensure the long-term preservation of related works and trading markets. Once the migration is complete, users’ NFTs will remain accessible and tradable on Ethereum ecosystem marketplaces such as OpenSea, and Modularium will continue to operate as a showcase platform for these NFT collections.Forma also urges users to withdraw their on-chain funds via the Forma Bridge as soon as possible. Any unwithdrawn assets will be manually migrated by the team to a new EVM-compatible chain at a later date. The team emphasizes that both user funds and NFT assets are secure and will announce a specific migration timeline and process in the near future.

Svmuu News: Shiba Inu (SHIB) rose as much as 36% on Sunday to about $0.0000057, with its market capitalization increasing by approximately $1 billion in a single day to $3.4 billion, despite the absence of any major announcements or project developments.Data shows that the SHIB/KRW trading pair on the South Korean exchange Upbit recorded a trading volume of approximately $62 million, accounting for over 10% of global volume. It also traded at a slight premium compared to USD-denominated markets such as Binance, and is considered the main driver of this rally.
Meanwhile, Dogecoin (DOGE) rose by only about 6% during the same period, while other “Dogecoin” themed tokens saw gains of around 10%, indicating that capital flows were primarily concentrated in SHIB.In the derivatives market, approximately 2,300 traders’ SHIB and 1,000SHIB positions were liquidated during this rally, with total liquidations amounting to approximately $6 million, of which short positions accounted for about $5 million. However, analysts believe that the closing of short positions was largely a result of the price increase rather than a primary driver of this rally. (CoinDesk)

Svmuu News: The Intermediate People’s Court of Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, issued a second-instance ruling upholding the original verdict in the case of Ma Mou, who was charged with the crime of illegal business operations. This is one of a series of cases involving the Sifang Payment Platform providing payment and settlement services for gambling platforms; in this case, some of the defendants were accused of receiving commissions or rebates in the form of virtual currencies such as USDT. According to the investigation, between May 24, 2022, and October 18, 2023, Ma and four others collected and disbursed illicit funds through third-party payment accounts, using settlement methods such as receiving USDT via virtual wallets and accepting payments via bank cards. Through 105 merchant accounts across 10 third-party payment companies, the total settlement amount exceeded 2.95 billion yuan.
The court ultimately found Ma guilty of the crime of illegal business operations and sentenced him to four years and six months in prison, along with a fine of 3 million RMB. The five other individuals, who were apprehended in succession, were also convicted by the court of the crime of illegal business operations and sentenced to prison terms ranging from three to six years. Svmuu News: Driven by the strong performance of the South Korean stock market, South Korea’s five major financial groups (KB Financial, Shinhan Financial, Hana Financial, Woori Financial, and NH Nonghyup Financial) collectively posted a net profit of 13.12 trillion won in the first half of 2026, marking a year-over-year increase of approximately 10%. Among them, KB Financial Group remained in first place with a net profit of 3.88 trillion won, while Shinhan Financial Group ranked second with 3.44 trillion won.
Analysis shows that the securities subsidiaries of South Korea’s five major financial groups posted significant growth in earnings. NH Investment & Securities, KB Securities, and Shinhan Investment Securities saw their first-half net profits rise by 107.5%, 135.0%, and 123.1% year-over-year, respectively, driving a continued increase in the contribution of non-banking operations to group profits. At the same time, the performance of several insurance subsidiaries came under pressure due to factors such as rising claim ratios and adjustments to actuarial assumptions. Major financial groups also announced that they will continue to advance share buyback and cancellation plans in the second half of the year to further enhance shareholder returns. (Asiae)

Svmuu News: Crypto influencer Phyrex posted on X, stating, “BitMart and BitMEX didn’t go under because of a sudden collapse; this is very different from FTX’s downfall. For these two exchanges, it was primarily due to operational issues.”
According to him, back in 2023, BitMart approached some of his associates to discuss an acquisition; they even compiled a lot of data at the time, but the matter ultimately came to nothing. In fact, the decline of many third-tier exchanges is partly due to the impact of “Binance” Alpha.
Small exchanges have always been hotbeds for all kinds of altcoins, pump-and-dump coins, pyramid scheme coins, and community-backed coins. However, the emergence of Alpha provided these coins with better outlets, leading to a sharp decline in listing fees for third-tier exchanges and a significant reduction in their profits from collusive market manipulation.
Another reason is trading mentors. While there aren’t actually that many of them, they have a constant stream of followers. These mentors typically move between various exchanges; as soon as a new exchange offers better profits, they’ll quickly lead their followers to switch platforms. The recent high-profile cases of exchanges that have gone under generally followed this pattern.

Svmuu News: Nenter Chow, Global CEO of BitMart, posted on X stating that he was informed on July 24 that his position as Global CEO would be terminated and that he would immediately begin the resignation process.
Nenter Chow stated that, as of July 24, he has no longer been involved in BitMart’s management or decision-making, nor has he participated in any discussions or decisions regarding the suspension of the trading platform’s operations. He noted that he only learned of this decision after BitMart’s official announcement was made public.
Nenter Chow said his top priority at present is the security of BitMart users’ assets and the placement of employees, and he reminded users to refer only to BitMart’s official channels when handling account-related matters.

Svmuu News: In response to the details of BitMart’s official withdrawal announcement, Baki, an ambassador for the WOO X trading platform, posted on X, stating, “BitMart has restricted user withdrawals on the grounds of ‘security reasons,’ and its decision to disable the automatic withdrawal feature may prevent a large number of users from completing their withdrawals.” The platform has switched the withdrawal process to manual review, requiring users to submit regulatory checks such as account identity and KYC verification, verification of login devices, IP addresses, and account security status, review of withdrawal addresses and blockchain transaction risks, review of fund sources and transaction history, Travel Rule compliance, and sanctions screening. If necessary, users must also provide additional documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, proof of funds’ origin, or proof of ownership of the withdrawal address.”
Baki advises users to withdraw funds to their bank accounts via the P2P option if available; it also emphasizes that the crypto market is not decentralized but is controlled by a small number of large conglomerates, exchanges, and financial institutions.
Having trouble withdrawing funds from Bitmart? A WOO X ambassador claims that Bitmart is restricting withdrawals on the grounds of “security reasons,” which may constitute misappropriation of user funds.

Svmuu News: Crypto influencer @tradermige posted on X, stating, “The employees at Bitmart and BitMEX are all in ‘give-up mode’—no wonder they went under. I had a feeling this would happen.”
He noted that Bitmart had set him up as a referral affiliate, but “they got everything wrong—they couldn’t even make a proper promotional poster; it was full of errors.” In the end, he left the group and blocked them. BitMEX, on the other hand, contacted him to offer bonus funds—which couldn’t be withdrawn—and required him to prove he brought in over 100 million in monthly trading volume to the exchange. However, after he sent them screenshots, it took three months for them to respond.
He pointed out, “Exchanges with terrible customer service and business development teams will almost always go under, because their staff are definitely being underpaid—they’re the kind who can’t be bothered to do their jobs.”

Svmuu News: Bruce, the founder of MSX.COM, posted on X, stating, “ If I were to acquire Bitmart, the first thing I’d do is complete the transfer of ownership, and the second would be to make everything free—reducing all spot and futures trading fees to 0. I think crypto exchange fees are too high; didn’t Robinhood do something like that back in the day?”
Previously, Bitmart announced it would cease operations and halt all trading services on August 26. MSX.COM founder Bruce subsequently posted expressing his intention to acquire the exchange.

Svmuu News: Following the announcement of Bitmart’s shutdown, DI (@Start16Start)—a former Bitmart employee and current WEEX employee—posted on X, stating: “As someone who was once on the inside, I’m not surprised to see Bitmart shut down. From using unattainable KPIs for employees in the CIS region to cut our salaries, to the chaotic internal culture throughout the company. They constantly deceived employees, traders, and KOLs, refusing to pay the salaries and bonuses they were owed, and instead chose to build an unsustainable system. This endless deception is precisely why I chose to leave and why I urged my key partners to stay as far away from that mess as possible.
This week, I attended a conference in Hong Kong and was listening to their CEO speak. Right up until the very last moment, they were still trying to squeeze every last penny out of people before shutting down all operations. What a disgrace!”

Svmuu News: The North Korean hacking group BlueNoroff is using fake Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings to target cryptocurrency users and deploy malware. The group first takes control of the accounts of contacts in the crypto industry whom the victims trust, then sends seemingly legitimate meeting links via platforms like Calendly that redirect to fake Zoom and Teams domains. Once users access the fake meeting page, the page scans for wallets in their browser and decides whether to proceed with the attack based on the wallet’s value. The fake meetings also prompt users to “update Zoom/Teams” or run commands, which actually download malware compatible with Windows and macOS.
