The iPhone maker's new court filing states that its continued investigation has revealed 11 other former Apple employees, beyond those initially named, may have been involved. Apple is also requesting expedited discovery from the accused OpenAI employees, OpenAI itself, and io, a device startup co-founded by Apple's former lead designer Jony Ive.

OpenAI publicly responded, stating that Apple's request for a preliminary injunction is "both based on false information and completely unnecessary because we do not have, nor want, any of their trade secrets." OpenAI also pointed to alleged earlier mistakes by Apple in the case.

Saudi Aramco announced that its adjusted net profit for the second quarter was $33.4 billion, exceeding analysts' expectations of $31.59 billion. Although crude oil sales and production declined during the quarter, the average price of crude oil surged to approximately $108 per barrel, driven by the Iran War, an increase of over 60% compared to the average price of $67 per barrel in the same period last year.

Amin H. Nasser, the company's President and CEO, stated that the conflict "continues to exacerbate the largest supply shock in history," estimating that over 2.6 billion barrels of oil required by global industries have been removed from supply, and that rebuilding global inventories would take up to 18 months even if the Strait of Hormuz were to reopen immediately. Saudi Aramco maintained its export volume at the upper limit of 7 million barrels per day through its East-West pipelines, despite the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The company's facilities were attacked by Iranian-backed Houthi militants in late July, but Saudi Aramco stated that these attacks had no material impact on its financial condition, operations, or cash flow.

Spotify's third-quarter forecast for monthly active users (MAUs) and operating income fell short of analysts' expectations, leading to a 6% drop in its shares during early trading on Tuesday. The streaming giant expects 788 million MAUs for the current quarter, below the consensus estimate of 793.5 million. It also forecast Q3 operating income of approximately $771 million, missing expectations of about $784 million. This comes despite the company reporting Q2 premium subscribers of 300 million, which topped expectations.

Wall Street previously expected Meta to report an increase in second-quarter earnings, but the company actually reported a decline, causing its stock price to fall by nearly 10% after the report was released. Despite this, Meta's revenue increased by 28% year-over-year, with ad impressions growing by 14% and the price per ad increasing by 12%. The company's AI advertising product, Advantage+, has reached an annualized run rate of $75 billion and serves 9 million small and medium-sized business clients. Generative recommenders have driven an 8.3% increase in Facebook ad clicks and a 15.7% increase in conversion rates. Meta's current forward P/E ratio is below 18x. Bears argue that Meta's free cash flow is declining and that it is caught in a spending spiral to survive the AI race, with capital expenditures projected to exceed $200 billion by 2028.

Wall Street previously expected Ford Motor's Q2 2026 earnings to decline by approximately 5% year-over-year, but the company actually reported growth, driving its stock price up over 6% after the report's release. Despite a 12% year-over-year decrease in wholesale volume, revenue only fell by 4% due to Ford selling higher-margin trucks, SUVs, and hybrid vehicles, with adjusted EBIT increasing by 17% year-over-year. This is the second time this year Ford has raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBIT guidance. The company's commercial fleet business, Ford Pro, performed strongly, achieving a Q2 EBIT margin of 9.7% and a 50% year-over-year increase in paid subscriptions to 1.6 million. Ford Motor currently has a forward P/E ratio of approximately 8-9x and a dividend yield of 4%.

The company, which provides custom chips and optical networking solutions for hyperscale data centers, reported data center revenue of $1.833 billion, accounting for 76% of its total revenue. Marvell CEO Matt Murphy stated that revenue growth is expected to accelerate quarter-over-quarter throughout fiscal year 2027. Additionally, free cash flow in the first quarter increased by 126.8% year-over-year to $483.1 million. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang once called Marvell "the next trillion-dollar company."

The threshold, set at $32,000 for married couples and $25,000 for single filers, has not been adjusted for inflation since its implementation. Consumer prices have tripled since 1984, and rising nominal benefits (including annual cost-of-living adjustments) push more retirees past this fixed line, eroding their real standard of living. This share is projected to rise from under 10% in 1984 to 56% by 2050. Higher taxation tiers, added in 1993, also remain unindexed.

Bank of America (BofA) reiterated its Buy rating on Micron (MU) and maintained a $1,550 price target, calling the recent selloff an "enhanced buying opportunity." The bank expects memory pricing to normalize from 2027–2028 but believes fundamentals remain strong, supported by robust AI memory demand. BofA forecasts Micron's FY2028 EPS at approximately $150, with a bear case of around $100, significantly above the prior cycle peak of $12. The bank also views China's CXMT as "not a threat in AI."

Reddit's second-quarter earnings report, released on July 30, showed an earnings per share beat of 29%, revenue growth of 61%, and a tripling of profits. However, the company's stock price fell by over 20% after the earnings release, with a cumulative drop of 13.7% last week and a year-to-date decline of 32.7%, due to CEO Steve Huffman mentioning "unstable search recommendations" in his letter to shareholders. Despite this, the stock rebounded nearly 10% on August 3, closing at approximately $154.71. Since then, retail investors on the Reddit platform have shown divided opinions on the stock, with some finding its valuation attractive, while others remain skeptical about the potential risks of AI traffic and Google search recommendations.

Toyota Motor announced that its net profit for the first fiscal quarter ended June 30 reached 1.48 trillion yen (approximately $9.4 billion), a 76% year-on-year increase, primarily benefiting from a weaker yen and increased financial income, despite a decline in vehicle sales.
