IOEN Project Overview and Technical Foundation
Internet of Energy Network (IOEN) is a blockchain project dedicated to building virtual microgrids, aiming to connect energy devices, users, and markets to promote the efficient distribution and utilization of clean energy. The project integrates blockchain and Holochain technologies, with its native transaction system primarily built on the Holochain platform, designed to achieve high privacy, scalability, and transaction efficiency.

IOEN Tokenomics and Core Uses
The IOEN token, an ERC-20 standard token, is a core component of the IOEN ecosystem with multiple functions:
- Energy Credit Pre-purchase: Users can use IOEN tokens to pre-purchase energy credits (IOEC) for future grids.
- Protocol Governance: Token holders can participate in the protocol's governance decisions.
- Staking Rewards: Staking IOEN tokens can earn IOEC discounts, energy ecosystem rewards (including NFTs), and help reduce the market's circulating supply.

The IOEN team consists of co-founders Adams Bampus, Alex Evans, Simon Wilson, and Mike Gamble. The project successfully completed a $2.8 million funding round in 2021, led by SL2 Capital.
Transaction Fees and Efficiency Analysis
As an Ethereum ERC-20 standard token, IOEN token transactions on the Ethereum network will inevitably be affected by Ethereum network Gas fees. This means that during network congestion, transaction costs may be higher, and confirmation times may be relatively slower.
However, IOEN's native transaction system is built on Holochain, a platform known for its advantages in privacy, scalability, and efficiency. Theoretically, transactions conducted within the IOEN ecosystem, especially operations related to energy credits (IOEC), are expected to achieve lower fees and higher efficiency. Furthermore, obtaining IOEC discounts by staking IOEN tokens also provides users with a way to reduce the actual cost of energy services.

Current Market Performance and Liquidity Risk
As of September 19, 2026, the price of the IOEN token is approximately $0.0007. However, according to recent data, its 24-hour trading volume is extremely low, fluctuating between $29 and $346, with some data sources even showing zero or N/A. The circulating market cap is between $250,000 and $260,000, but some data sources also show it as $0. The fully diluted valuation also varies significantly. The historical high price of the IOEN token reached approximately $0.2889 (January 19, 2022), while the historical low price was $0.0002 (January 19, 2026).
The total supply is 1 billion IOEN, with a current circulating supply of approximately 317 million, accounting for 31.7% of the total supply.

Given that the current 24-hour trading volume of IOEN tokens is only in the hundreds of dollars or less, the trading market for this token has almost dried up, lacking effective transactions. Investors considering any activities related to IOEN tokens must fully recognize the significant risks posed by its extremely low liquidity.
