The China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) has issued an announcement regarding adjustments to the currency baskets and weightings of the CFETS RMB Exchange Rate Index and the BIS RMB Exchange Rate Index. The announcement states that the weighting of the U.S. dollar in the new CFETS currency basket is 0.18307. The new BIS currency basket will remove the Bulgarian lev, while the weight corresponding to the Bulgarian lev will be added to the weight of the euro. The Center will maintain the currency basket and weights of the SDR currency basket RMB exchange rate index unchanged.
