In his New Year’s address on the evening of December 31, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not pursue peace at any cost, nor did it need a “weak” peace agreement. “What we want is an end to the war, not an end to Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said, noting that Ukrainians are “extremely exhausted,” but that does not mean they will give up. “Anyone who thinks that is sorely mistaken.”
