Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce Answers Journalists' Questions on the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism
China hopes that the EU will abide by international rules on climate and trade, reject unilateralism and protectionism, keep markets open, and promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment in the green sector in accordance with the principles of fairness, science, and non-discrimination. China is willing to work with the EU in a spirit of mutual cooperation to address the challenges of global climate change, but will resolutely take all necessary measures to respond to any unfair trade restrictions, safeguard its own development interests and the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, and maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
