A new report from Global SWF reveals that this year, the assets under management (AUM) of global sovereign wealth funds have climbed to a record high of $15 trillion. This growth is primarily driven by gains made by major funds amid a broad market rally, as well as their continued increased investment in the technology sector. In 2025, sovereign investors have already committed a total of $66 billion to AI and digital sectors. Amid this trend, wealth funds in the Middle East have been particularly active, emerging as leaders in digital transformation: Among them, Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Co. invested $12.9 billion in AI and digital sectors in 2025, followed by the Kuwait Investment Authority and the Qatar Investment Authority with $6 billion and $4 billion, respectively.
