On January 2, A research team from the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, announced that the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST)—known as the “artificial sun”—has experimentally confirmed the existence of a density-free region in tokamaks and identified a method to break through density limits, providing important physical evidence for high-density operation of magnetically confined fusion devices. The findings were published in the international academic journal *Science Advances*. (Xinhua News Agency)
