According to the China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., passenger traffic on the Yangtze River Delta railway network remained at high levels that day, with an estimated 2.65 million passengers expected to travel. On January 1, the Yangtze River Delta railway system transported 3.766 million passengers, an increase of approximately 59.1% year-on-year, setting a new single-day record for passenger volume during the New Year’s holiday period.
