According to data from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Immigration Department, more than 1.18 million people entered and exited Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air control points on January 1. Of these, more than 664,000 were arrivals, including approximately 408,000 Hong Kong residents and approximately 215,000 mainland visitors; while approximately 516,000 people departed, including over 215,000 mainland visitors and about 251,000 Hong Kong residents.
