On January 2, 2026, total cross-regional passenger traffic across all modes of transportation is projected to reach 186.82 million trips, a 10% decrease from the previous month and a 13.4% increase year-over-year. Of this total, rail passenger traffic is estimated at 12.6 million trips, a 32.1% decrease from the previous month and an 18.7% increase year-over-year. Road passenger traffic (including non-commercial passenger travel by private vehicles on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways, as well as commercial road passenger transport) totaled 171.55 million trips, a 7.9% decrease from the previous month and a 13.0% increase year-on-year. Of this total, commercial road passenger traffic was 30.57 million trips, a 10.5% decrease from the previous month and a 15.6% increase year-on-year; non-commercial passenger travel by private vehicles on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways was 140.98 million trips, a 7.3% decrease from the previous month and a 12.5% increase year-on-year.
