On January 2 local time, foreign ministers from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt issued a joint statement on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, expressing concern over the continuing deterioration of conditions there. The statement noted that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has been further exacerbated by recent severe and unstable weather conditions. With restricted access to humanitarian aid, severe shortages of critical life-saving supplies, and slow delivery of infrastructure repair and temporary shelter materials, living conditions for the local population continue to deteriorate.
