Sun Yanfeng, director of the Institute of Latin American Studies at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, stated that "The fact that the United States has launched large-scale airstrikes against Venezuela at this critical juncture reflects that Washington is dissatisfied with the lack of expected results from its gradually escalating military threats against Venezuela. Therefore, it is resorting to these large-scale military bombings to continue pursuing its strategic goal of overthrowing the Venezuelan government." Looking ahead, the U.S. is highly likely to continue launching airstrikes or special operations against Venezuela to achieve its strategic goal of overthrowing the Venezuelan government. The U.S. will also assess the extent of Venezuela’s ability to withstand a future full-scale U.S. offensive based on the current state of its air defense capabilities. (CCTV News)
