A large-scale floating natural gas liquefaction unit, independently developed and constructed in China, was successfully launched in Nantong, Jiangsu
On January 3, 2026, with full support from patrol boats and tugs of the Nantong Maritime Safety Administration, the “F450 FLNG,” a large floating natural gas liquefaction unit built by a company in Nantong, Jiangsu, was successfully launched and safely berthed at the outfitting pier. FLNG technology is complex and offers high added value. This unit represents Indonesia’s first and the world’s ninth FLNG project, marking a new milestone in Nantong’s offshore engineering equipment manufacturing capabilities and providing strong momentum for a successful start to the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
