Goldman Sachs In a research report, the commodities research team stated that the risks posed by the political turmoil in Venezuela to oil prices may be unclear and limited, depending on the direction of U.S. sanctions policy.On the one hand, Venezuelan crude oil production could rise slightly in the short term, including in a scenario where a U.S.-backed government takes office and sanctions are fully lifted. On the other hand, disruptions to Venezuelan crude oil shipments could persist or even intensify in the short term, for example, if the Maduro administration re-establishes its control.
