Wang Zhibin, Director-General of the Department of Science, Technology, and Finance at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on January 6 that the Ministry will continue to advance the development of “zero-waste cities” to high standards, streamline the waste recycling and reuse cycle, and promote the growth of green consumption. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will encourage approximately 200 cities to carry out “Zero-Waste City” initiatives, enabling the public to personally experience the achievements of these efforts and deepening the green foundation of China’s modernization.
