The General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government has released the “Guangzhou Plan for Accelerating the Development of an Advanced Manufacturing Powerhouse (2024–2035).” The plan calls for vigorously promoting the research, development, and application of smart manufacturing equipment and industrial software, improving the quality of domestically produced smart technologies and products, and fostering suppliers of smart manufacturing system solutions. The plan aims to advance the development of next-generation ultra-high-speed, low-latency network technologies, promote technological progress in artificial intelligence and big data in areas such as personalized recommendations, multimodal interaction, and real-time data analysis, and optimize the user experience. It also seeks to deepen the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing in smart homes, wearable devices, and cross-device collaboration to improve the efficiency of user services. Expand the practical application of immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in areas including virtual shopping, online education, and entertainment. Enhance the role of blockchain and digital identity technologies in privacy protection and identity authentication, and meet special communication needs while strengthening data security through visible light communication and quantum technologies.
