Svmuu News: The People’s Procuratorate of Pudong New Area, Shanghai, has disclosed a case involving an underground industry that illegally accessed and sold citizens’ location data. The suspects settled transactions by exchanging virtual currency and profited illegally from these activities. Forensic analysis revealed that over 1,000 pieces of location data were illegally accessed, resulting in illicit profits totaling approximately 1.17 million yuan. The individuals involved have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from three years and six months to one year, along with fines ranging from 500,000 yuan to 40,000 yuan.
