Some members of the crypto community have raised questions about the backend of the crypto asset lookup feature, noting that certain small-cap crypto assets not yet listed on major exchanges may not be searchable, ultimately forcing users to switch to DEXs for queries. In response, Nikita Bier stated that the API (Application Programming Interface) used by the X platform will be able to process virtually anything minted on-chain in near real time. Additionally, when asked whether users would be able to use self-custody wallets or even CEX widgets to conduct crypto transactions on X in the future, Nikita Bier did not provide a clear answer, replying only with a “watching” emoji.
