Svmuu News Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich announced on platform X that the Metaplanet board has resolved to establish two wholly-owned subsidiaries: Metaplanet Ventures and the US subsidiary Metaplanet Asset Management Inc.
Metaplanet Ventures plans to invest 4 billion yen over the next few years to support companies building Bitcoin financial infrastructure in Japan, covering areas such as lending, payments, custody, stablecoins, derivatives, and compliance.
Metaplanet Asset Management will be established in Miami, serving as a digital credit and Bitcoin capital markets platform connecting Asian capital markets with those in Europe and the US.
As the first investment of Metaplanet Ventures, Metaplanet has signed a basic agreement with Japan's first registered yen stablecoin project, JPYC, to invest up to 400 million yen in it.
