U.S. Secretary of State: We will never allow Iran to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz
Svmuu News: On March 30 local time, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that Iran would never be allowed to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz or establish a toll system there.In an interview with the media that day, Rubio said the U.S. aims to achieve its military objectives regarding Iran “within weeks, not months.” He said, “He [U.S. President Donald Trump] favors a diplomatic approach. These [negotiation] efforts are still in their early stages.Some negotiations are underway, including through intermediaries.” Rubio added, “But we must also be prepared for the possibility that these efforts [negotiations] may fail.” He noted that Iran “is issuing threats to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz and establish a toll system, among other things. This must not be allowed to happen.” (CCTV News)
