Fed's Musalem: Iran War Energy Shock Will Broadly Push Up Inflation
Svmuu News According to Fed Governor Christopher Waller, energy shocks related to a war with Iran would certainly affect overall inflation and could impact core price pressures. Musalem stated at an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute in Washington on Wednesday: "I expect the rise in goods prices to affect overall inflation one-for-one, and there will be a period of high overall inflation." He added: "Core inflation will also see some pass-through, and I will closely monitor the extent of the pass-through and the correlation between the two." (Jin10)
