Analyst: European stock markets have limited upside potential this year
Svmuu News: Based on the consensus forecast of 17 analysts, the Euro Stoxx 600 index is expected to close at 623 points by the end of 2026, up about 1% from Wednesday’s closing price. The index has largely recouped the losses it suffered due to the war in Iran, but strategists say this rally appears unsustainable as the full impact of rising energy costs has yet to materialize. In the latest survey, Deutsche Bank, Deka Bank, UBS, and UniCredit each modestly lowered their index targets, while HSBC emerged as the most bullish institution with a forecast of 670 points, implying an 8% rise.TFS Futures and Bank of America remain the most bearish strategists, forecasting that the index could fall by about 9%.
