China's Weekly AI Large Model Calls Drop 23.8% MoM, US Overtakes for First Time in Nearly Two Months
According to the latest data from OpenRouter, the global total AI large model call volume last week (April 13-19) was 20.6 trillion tokens, marking a decline for two consecutive weeks. Among the listed AI large models, the weekly call volume for Chinese AI large models dropped to 4.441 trillion tokens, also declining for two consecutive weeks, down 23.77% compared to the previous week. The weekly call volume for US AI large models was 4.908 trillion tokens, a month-on-month increase of 20.62%. This marks the first time in nearly two months that the weekly call volume of US AI large models has surpassed that of China. Among the top nine globally by call volume last week, four were Chinese AI large models. DeepSeek V3.2 ranked second with a weekly call volume of 1.28 trillion tokens; MiMo-V2-Pro ranked fourth with a weekly call volume of 1.15 trillion tokens, up 90% month-on-month; two models from MiniMax made the list: MiniMax M2.5 ranked sixth with a weekly call volume of 1.05 trillion tokens, and MiniMax M2.7 ranked seventh with a weekly call volume of 0.961 trillion tokens, down 19% month-on-month.
