12 European banks have jointly developed a MiCA-compliant euro-pegged stablecoin
Svmuu News: A consortium of 12 European banks led by Qivalis has selected Fireblocks to provide the infrastructure for the joint development of a euro-pegged stablecoin compliant with the MiCA regulatory framework. The stablecoin is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2026, subject to approval by the Dutch Central Bank. It will be backed by a 1:1 euro reserve and issued as electronic money under Dutch regulation, primarily targeting use cases such as institutional settlement, treasury management, and asset tokenization. Fireblocks will provide tokenization, wallet, and compliance tool support, including identity verification and sanctions screening capabilities. (Cointelegraph)
