Previously, Iran had demanded that the US lift the blockade as a prerequisite for starting negotiations and required the US to agree on terms for ending the war before discussing the future management of the strait and nuclear program. The sources also noted that the new proposal then suggests discussing issues related to Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the US implementing sanctions relief.
