Effective January 1, 2027, these institutions will be subject to prudential requirements, including risk management rules, capital requirements, and disclosure policies. By June 30, 2028, Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) will be classified under Section 4 regardless of size and will not be eligible for the simplified compliance regime for low-risk institutions under Section 5.
