Ripple: Has Joined the x402 Foundation as a Premier Member; XRP and RLUSD Support x402 Transactions
Svmuu News: On July 14, 2026, Ripple announced that it had joined the Linux Foundation’s x402 Foundation as a lead member to participate in the technical and governance development of the protocol.The x402 Foundation was launched by 40 member organizations with the aim of developing an open, HTTP-based payment standard for AI agents, APIs, and applications. The Coinbase has contributed x402 to the Linux Foundation, enabling AI agents, APIs, and applications to send and receive payments directly during web interactions.Ripple stated that the XRP Ledger already supports proxy payments via x402, including transactions using XRP and Ripple’s USD-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD.
