The Digital Chamber Sues the State of Illinois Over an Upcoming Crypto Transaction Tax
Svmuu News: The Digital Chamber (TDC), a cryptocurrency industry trade organization, has filed a lawsuit in an Illinois court challenging the state’s upcoming 0.2% digital asset transaction tax. The tax measure has been signed into law by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and is scheduled to take effect in January 2027. TDC is asking the court to declare the law “null and void” on the grounds that it violates the U.S. Constitution, and is seeking appropriate relief from the court. (The Block)
