Berkshire Hathaway's investment in Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has exceeded $30 billion, making it the company's third- or fourth-largest holding.
According to reports, Warren Buffett has begun making large-scale investments in Alphabet, the parent company of Google, ahead of his planned step-down from the day-to-day operations of Berkshire Hathaway at the end of 2025.Berkshire’s total investment in Alphabet has now reached $30 billion, quickly making it the group’s third or fourth-largest holding. Buffett confirmed this news in an interview with CNBC, stating that not holding Alphabet earlier was a mistake on Berkshire’s part and that he is bullish on Google’s search business and its growth potential in AI infrastructure.This investment includes approximately $20 billion in open-market purchases made through the end of 2025, as well as $10 billion in newly issued common stock purchased from Alphabet in June of this year at a price of approximately $350 per share.
