BlackRock launches two new blockchain money market products designed to meet the qualified reserve asset requirements for US stablecoins under the GENIUS Act
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, announced on Monday the expansion of its tokenized cash platform with the launch of two new blockchain money market products: the BlackRock Select Treasury Based Liquidity Fund (BSTBL) and the BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle (BRSRV). BSTBL represents tokenized shares of an existing money market fund on Ethereum, while BRSRV is a new fund accessible across multiple blockchains with daily dividend reinvestment. BlackRock stated that both funds are designed to meet the qualified reserve asset requirements under the U.S. GENIUS Act for approved U.S. payment stablecoin issuers. This move deepens BlackRock's presence in the tokenized finance sector. Its CFO, Martin Small, previously stated that the company aims to be the industry's preferred stablecoin reserve manager and currently manages $60 billion in reserves for Circle.
