Agnico Eagle Mines expects gold production to grow by 20%-30% through organic expansion in the next 5-10 years.
Agnico Eagle Mines (NYSE:AEM) plans to increase its annual gold production by 20% to 30% over the next 5 to 10 years through internal exploration and project development rather than acquisitions, according to Ion Hann, the company's Vice President of Australian Operations. Key growth drivers include boosting production at the Detour Lake mine to 1 million ounces per year, transforming the Canadian Malartic mine into the high-grade Odyssey underground mine, and restarting development of the Hope Bay project in the Nunavut region. The company is also pursuing regional development opportunities in Finland and Australia.
