Visa to acquire fraud intelligence provider BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash to enhance cybersecurity offerings
The world's largest payment processor stated the deal, expected to close by the end of its fiscal second quarter of 2027, will bolster its existing cyber, fraud, risk, and security offerings. BioCatch helps detect fraud and distinguish legitimate users from fraudsters in real time by analyzing signals like keystrokes and touch gestures. Visa highlighted that account takeovers and scams cost the global economy over $1 trillion annually, with AI enabling these attacks at unprecedented scale.
